Birds of Fundy

On tour we frequently see a number of species of birds. Our tour passes by a nest built by a couple of bald eagles. The mating pair and their two off-springs are usually seen on one part of the trip - coming or going. Hopefully they will return to the nest next year. Other species include the great blue heron, double crested cormorant, common loon, eider ducks, and small flocks of sand pipers including the spotted sand piper, plovers, and the least sandpiper.

It is now the end of August and with Labour Day on the first of September, there are noticeable fewer tourists in the area. Tours are now smaller and more intimate - which the guides enjoy. This year we will be open until September 20 - finishing off our 13th year providing tours along Fundy National Park.

Until next time,

Alan
