Paddling Fundy

April- and preparation for our spring opening is in full swing. On one of my spring trips to Alma I was reflecting on what makes Alma and Fundy National Park such an interesting place to paddle. Here is my short list:

....an impressive and dramatic coastline - most tours explores the Park coastline
....Fundy tides - and working around (with) them
...."getting away" as there is no traffic on the Bay exept our kayaks and the occasional lobster boat
.... the views - in all directions - up, down and across the Bay
.... and of course paddling along a national park with all of the facilities and activities it provides

The picture above shows one of the views - the entrance to Alma harbour - around mid tide. When the tide is low - you can walk a couple of kilometres out on the ocean bottom.

...and when the tide is low we try not carry our kayaks to or from the water's edge!

Until next time;

Alan
