Travelling Cambodia

Since Feb. 9 I have been travelling around Cambodia - with a few days in Hong Kong on the way over. Certainly the highlight was the temples of Angkor - and Angkor Wat in particular. The temples are scattered over three hundred square kilometres of countyside - so we hired a tuk tuk and spent 3 days exploring. But the country side of Cambodia is facinating - its rice patties, villages, oxens, markets ...............

Today we have just returned from Kratie where we saw the Irrawaddy dauphins in the Mekong River.

But home March 10 to the rest of winter. Looking forward to taking up residence in Alma again and another season of kayak tours.

Until next time,

Alan

Travelling through Cambodia was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I would say the temples at Angkor are one of the "Wonders of the World". I would also HIGHLY reccomend Northern Laos - the Luang Prabang area - for those that liked Cambodia.

Angkor Thom is only a short distance from Angkor Wat and both can viewed in single day. I visited there just before my east coast tours last year. The beautiful temple consisted of many of the carvings that we thought were at Angkor Wat. Angkor Thom is over a big area so be careful to walk.
