Travelling In All Directions

Joe and Becky have just left for a well deserved vacation in Costa Rica. Meanwhile I am returning home from Peru today - spending my last day in Lima. The highlight of my Peru vacation was Machu Picchu.

Why did the Incas build this community among the clouds - high in the Andies? There must have been a spiritual element as it is one of the most beautiful locations in the world - surrounded by peaks and often by clouds. Or perhaps they were making a statement saying "Look at what we can do!" - much like developers of today.

Regardless, Machu Picchu well deserves its reputation as one of the wonders of South America if not the world. I am glad to have experienced it. But now it is time to catch up on the business of FreshAir Adventure - summer is fast approaching.
